Your
Instructors
Both
instructors, Don Ratych and Ken Drover, have extensive knowledge
of Canadian Firearms legislation and gun handling. Both
have been involved in competitive shooting sports and hunting
for several decades. Both remain involved in all shooting
sports including bow hunting, muzzleloader hunting, reloading
ammunition, big and small game hunting and handgun shooting.
Both
instructors are familiar with antique and modern firearms
and ammunitions.
Both
Don and Ken hunt frequently throughout the year by hunting
turkey and varmint in the spring and by hunting small game,
bear, moose and deer in the fall. They have also hunted
various other big game species in Quebec, Alberta and British
Columbia.
Instructors
Commitment / Policy for Firearms Courses
Don
Ratych and Ken Drover are committed to your firearms and
hunters education. Both feel that the safe handling of firearms
and hunting equipment are paramount to simply passing the
courses. Injuries from accidents are not acceptable.
In the past your instructors have offered students to attend
remedial firearms and hunting classes until the student
was confident in their knowledge and, especially in their
firearms handling. Your instructors have never charged students
for remedial classes since 1994.
A new policy change at the Ontario Chief Provincial Firearms
Office will not allow for this practice in the future although
your instructors will still welcome you back for remedial
hunter education classes. This program is run through the
Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters and so this course
is not subject to the new policy change.
Your instructors can still offer remedial hunting classes
at no expense to the student but additional firearms courses
will be at the expense of the student.
New Cancellation Policy January 2008- READ CAREFULLY
Please book the dates for courses carefully as we cannot
refund course fees without 30 days prior notice for any
reason.
